Join CARE for a moderated conversation between Kyra Jones and Dr. Judith Herman as we celebrate the release of Dr. Herman's new book, Truth and Repair: How Trauma Survivors Envision. Dr. Judith Herman is the Director of Training at the Victims of Violence Program at Cambridge Hospital and is also a clinical professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Her research areas include: the psychology of women, child abuse, domestic violence, and post-traumatic disorders. Kyra Jones (she/her) is a Black feminist screenwriter, filmmaker, and actor whose work focuses on Black women's experiences with intimate relationships, sex, and liberation. She received her degree in Theatre and Gender Studies from Northwestern University. She's currently a staff writer on the ABC series QUEENS, and previously staffed on Hulu’s hit series WOKE. Both speakers bring a wealth of knowledge and insight to the work of healing justice, and we look forward to hosting them virtually for a conversation on the path towards a more equitable world.
