New to programming? Want to learn Python? This in-person workshop focuses on the fundamental concepts and terms that you should know before you start learning a coding language. Gaining familiarity with these ideas will prepare you for the Python Fundamentals Boot Camp. 

Things you will learn in this workshop: 

-How filesystem paths work 

-How variables work 

-Data types: integer, float, string, boolean 

-Comparisons and conditional tests 

-If-then-else statements 

-Loops 

-Lists 

-Functions: calling them, arguments and parameters, return values 

-Interactive coding vs. scripts 

-Prerequisites: None 

 

Cost: Free. Registration with Eventbrite is required. Cancelations requested through Eventbrite so that the instructor can be prepared for the appropriate number of participants. 

Details: This workshop will be conducted live, in-person. Participants do not need laptops.
