Description:

Dr. Michelle Boyd Presents:

"Tongue Tied: How to Get Unstuck & Love Your Writing Again"

Many scholars worry that they are uniquely unskilled and unprepared for academic writing. When they get stuck, they’re plagued by frustration and shame and they often assume that the best way to get unstuck is to follow the strategies and best practices recommended by experts and mentors. This workshop will feature Michelle Boyd, PhD, founder of the InkWell Academic Writing Retreats and author of Becoming the Writer You Already Are (SAGE 2022).  The only thing she loves more than writing is helping scholars who dread writing develop a calm, confident,  productive writing practice.  Drawing from personal experience, Dr. Boyd will lead a discussion that destigmatizes the experience of getting stuck as a writer and offer practical advice that illustrates how scholars can use their unique writing process to move past the challenges of writing.
