Nadia Abu El-Haj will speak to the historical context around current events in the Middle East while discussing whether there is indeed a "paradigm shift," as some scholars maintain.

Lunch will be served.

Nadia Abu El-Haj is Professor in the Departments of Anthropology at Barnard College and Columbia University, and Co-Director of the Center for Palestine Studies at Columbia.
