Join veteran organizers Mony Ruiz-Velasco, Betty Alzamora, and Denise Poloyac to explore the rights, responsibilities, and risks that come with protesting and engaging in direct action for social change. We’ll discuss planning for safety, assessment of risk and potential consequences, and our responsibilities to one another. We’ll consider the personal calculations involved with activism, as well as collective strategies and tactics used to maximize the effect of actions. Whether you’re thinking about participating in a protest or already identify as an activist, do not miss this conversation!
