Title:
Differences in Cardiovascular Risk Factors Across Age Strata in Five Race and Ethnic Groups: The Mediators of Atherosclerosis in South Asians Living in America (MASALA) and Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA) Studies
Abstract:
While it is known that South Asians have an overall higher prevalence of CVD and develop it at younger ages, it is unknown how the prevalence of risk factors develops and evolves by age. Therefore, the objective of this study is to estimate the prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors across various ages and test whether the prevalence of risk factors in South Asian adults in the MASALA study differs from those of White, Black, Chinese, and Hispanic adults in the MESA study.
