During the month of February, the Searle Center is hosting a social justice reading group online from 2:00-3:00pm (CT) each Thursday starting February 1st.
Theoretical Thursdays is a facilitated reading group intended to deepen your understanding of inclusive teaching pedagogies and principles through engaged discussions with fellow educators. This quarter, we will highlight articles that feature social justice terms in the context of teaching and learning. The discussions are scheduled as follows:
- Thursday, Feb. 1 at 2:00-3:00pm (CT) on "Social Justice"
- Thursday, Feb. 8 at 2:00-3:00pm (CT) on "Critical Consciousness"
- Thursday, Feb. 15 at 2:00-3:00pm (CT) on "Cultural Humility"
- Thursday, Feb. 22 at 2:00-3:00pm (CT) on "Decolonization"
To register for this virtual series please provide the following information. Please note that you can attend the reading group on a drop-in basis, attending all four sessions is not necessary.
