A winner of top prizes in the Walter M. Naumburg Competition, the Seoul International Music Competition, and the Isang Yun Competition, Christopher Guzman has performed throughout Europe, North and South America, and Asia. Following a win at the Concours International de Piano d’Orléans, he toured France extensively, giving performances and leading master classes. As a chamber musician, Guzman has collaborated with violinist Ilya Gringolts, violist Antoine Tamestit, and fellow pianists David Fray and Jeremy Denk, and he has performed with members of the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2024, he was appointed to the keyboards position in Chicago's Grant Park Symphony Orchestra. His program, highlighting études and dances, showcases music of Schulhoff, Ravel, and Schubert, as well as Sam Shepherd, a visiting professor of composition at the University of Chicago and recipient of the 2024 Charles Ives Living Award.
