Description:
Founded in 1998 by pianist and conductor Jean-Philippe Wurtz, Ensemble Linea has garnered international acclaim, performing at music festivals throughout Europe and the US. The ensemble encourages and supports young composers by commissioning new works, organizing composition and performance master classes, and presenting concerts. Since 2014, the ensemble has run a summer academy for contemporary music in Strasbourg. Ensemble Linea’s collaborations have included such composers at Péter Eötvös, Brian Ferneyhough, Philippe Manoury, and Helmut Lachenmann. In this program, the ensemble presents contemporary works by Jean-Patrick Besingrand, Zeynep Toraman, and Anahita Abbasi.
