This workshop will help participants develop strategies for facilitating inclusive discussions, both in terms of encouraging participation from all students and navigating difficult conversations. Designed primarily for TAs leading discussion sections, this workshop will provide participants with resources for structuring inclusive discussions, while also providing them the opportunity to practice responding to scenarios representing common challenges. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn from one another and reflect on their own experiences in discussions as both students and instructors.
Facilitated by Graduate Teaching Fellows:
Lizzie Howell, History PhD Candidate
Varun Devakonda, Human Development & Social Policy PhD Candidate
