Description:

The Ben Barres Spotlight Awards are granted by eLife to researchers from underrepresented backgrounds to support their community. Mariana De Niz, PhD, research assistant professor of Cell and Developmental Biology and Nikon Imaging Center Manager, was a recipient this award, which was received in the context of improving the inclusion of neurodivergent scientists and building on open science practices to remove barriers to science.

Mariana De Niz, PhD, will introduce the Ben Barres Spotlight Awards and speak about her work in the context of this award.

Mark Williams, representing eLife, will speak about the eLife publishing model and about Sciety.

Panel discussion with core directors Dina Arvanitis, PhD, and Xinkun Wang, PhD; Yogesh Goyal, PhD, assistant professor of Cell and Developmental Biology; and one postdoc (TBD) on accurate reporting and FAIR principles and open science.
