The Ben Barres Spotlight Awards are granted by eLife to researchers from underrepresented backgrounds to support their community. Mariana De Niz, PhD, research assistant professor of Cell and Developmental Biology and Nikon Imaging Center Manager, was a recipient this award, which was received in the context of improving the inclusion of neurodivergent scientists and building on open science practices to remove barriers to science.
