Hosted by WebAIM, this live, online training session is being offered at no cost to you or your department and will cover accessibility principles and techniques for anyone interested in gaining a deep understanding of web accessibility.
Session 4: Sept 3-5, 2024
-Tuesday Sept 3: 10:30 a.m.-noon & 1-2:30 p.m.
-Wednesday Sept 4: 10:30 a.m.-noon & 1-2:30 p.m.
-Thursday Sept 5: 10:30 a.m.-noon & 1-2:30 p.m.
By enrolling in a WebAIM training session, you must commit to attending all nine hours of training in a single session offering. A lunch break is provided between 12 and 1pm daily. The sessions are tailored for a Northwestern audience and will include such topics as:
-Principles of Web Accessibility
-Evaluating Canvas site and general web accessibility at Northwestern
-Web accessibility guidelines and laws - Section 508, WCAG 2, ADA, etc.
-How users with disabilities access and use the web
-HTML, JavaScript, ARIA, CSS, and HTML5
-Captioning
-Using screen readers and other assistive technologies
-Creating accessible Word, PowerPoint, and PDF document
