The Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and the Querrey InQbation Lab are co-hosting a conversation with Richard Collins of Engine Ventures to learn about DeepTech investing, venture capital structures/strategy, the significance of PhDs as founders and in their organizations, and ways to engage in the venture capital world.

Engine Ventures is the venture capital fund associated with The Engine, the Accelerator spun out of MIT in 2016 focused on the Tough Tech Ecosystem. Richard will discuss their Tech Venture Fellowship program, which is a paid, part-time program for current graduate students and postdocs to help shape the next generation of Tough Tech companies and investments.
Fellowship Description: Working together with Engine Ventures’ investment team over the period of 5 months, the Fellows explore various Tough Tech areas, conduct scientific and technical diligence of incoming opportunities, and support our portfolio companies across key areas. The Fellowship offers a unique opportunity to learn about commercialization of breakthrough science and creation of the next generation of companies solving the most important challenges across climate change, human health and advanced systems.
