Aïsha Liviana Messina - Universidad Diego Portales, Chile
Dr Aïsha Liviana Messina is Professor of Philosophy at Universidad Diego Portales, Chile, where she directs the Instituto de Filosofía. She obtained her Phd at Université de Strasbourg, Francia.
She specializes in contemporary French philosophy, political thought, and the relationship between literature and philosophy in Blanchot, Bataille, Derrida, Artaud.
Her work on Blanchot has been recently translated into English in The Writing of Innocence. Maurice Blanchot and the Deconstruction of Christianity (SUNY, 2022) and she has widely published in Chile with Metales Pesados publishing, Una falla en la lógica del universo: cartas desde la cornisa: Metales Pesados (co-writted with Constanza Michelson, 2020) and Feminismo y revolución. Crónica de una inquietud, seguido de Santiago 2019. Fragmentos de una paz insólita, 2020.
Her work on Levinas can be found in Spanish in La anarquía de la paz. Levinas y la filosofía política. Santiago, Universidad Diego Portales, 2021, and in French by Editions du CNRS in its philosophy series, L’anarchie de la paix. Levinas et la philosophie politique, 2018. She has also worked on Marxist thought, and she has recently taught at the European Graduate School/ EGS. Dr Messinaoften writes contributions on current affairs in the Chilean national press and her articles have been anthologized by Metales Pesados in Chile.
