This workshop will explore two short stories from the anthology Octavia's Brood. Each piece centers around the idea that when we “envision a world without violence, without prison, without capitalism, we are engaging in speculative fiction. All organizing is science fiction” (Imarish pg.3). In the spirit of this collection we will engage in generative writing exercises and begin to craft our own stories that seek to imagine a better world.
*The story from the collection will be emailed prior the workshop.*
