Learn to play games that are thousands of years old! In this course, we will learn the rules, strategies, and gameplay of ancient board games from Egypt, Greece, Rome, India, and Mesopotamia. We will play the games in class, and even learn to make our own game boards! In the short lecture portions of the course, we will discuss the history of board games and how ancient games have been recovered and reconstructed, as well as some basics of game theory.
