The Jazz Orchestra explores the “third stream,” a genre fusing elements of classical and jazz, through music of Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, and others. Their program also highlights the contrasting music of the avant-garde movement, with adaptations of compositions by Ornette Coleman, Eric Dolphy, Sam Rivers, and more.
