Join us for an inspiring and thought-provoking evening with renowned artist and activist Julio Salgado, and Professor Mauricio Cordero, who will share their art practices as they relate to themes of politics and immigration. Cordero will share his background in fine arts, illustration, graphic design, and printmaking. Through personal anecdotes and reflections on his art, Salgado will explore how creative expression can be an act of defiance against systemic oppression while also fostering a sense of solidarity and belonging.
After the lecture, participants will participate in a hands-on workshop led by Salgado. This workshop will guide attendees through creating a poster, allowing them to experience the artist's creative perspective. No prior art background or drawing skills are required to attend this workshop!
