Title: THH(Z) and the image of J
Abstract: Topological Hochschild homology (THH) is an invariant of rings closely related to algebraic K-theory. This talk will be about a new description of THH(Z) after completion at an odd prime, where Z denotes the ring of integers; the description is in terms of the image of J spectrum, a classical object in algebraic topology. This is based on joint work with Sanath Devalapurkar.
