Description:

The Department of French and Italian will be hosting Éric Fassin, Professor of Sociology and Gender Studies at Université Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis, for a talk entitled "State Anti-Intellectualism in France and the United States. Gender, Race, and Academic Freedom." A reception will follow.

In addition to his work at Université Paris 8, Éric Fassin is affiliated with the research center Sophiapol and a Senior Member of the Institut Universitaire de France. His recent publications include:
