Florence Price's expansive tribute to African American history Dances in the Canebrakes begins the program, followed by Vincent Gardner's love letter to the trombone, The Slide Shows. Anton Bruckner's lyrical Symphony No. 4 in E-flat Major ("Romantic") rounds out the evening).
