Andrew Megill, A. J. Keller, and Tim Lambert, conductors; Bienen Contemporary/Early Vocal Ensemble, University Chorale, University Singers, and Northwestern Camerata; Chuck Foster, piano
The Bienen combined choirs celebrate the choral traditions of Sweden in a special performance featuring guest scholar Richard Sparks. The founder of the Seattle Pro Musica choir in 1973, Sparks served as principal conductor of the Pacific Northwest Bach Festival, conducted the Seattle Symphony Chorale, and taught at Pacific Lutheran University and the University of North Texas. He worked with the Swedish Radio Choir in 2002, 2007, and 2008, and his doctoral dissertation on Swedish a cappella music won the American Choral Directors Association’s Julius Herford Award.
