WATERING HOLE
Come mingle at our monthly informal seminar series!
Tues, April 8
4:30-5:30 PM
Hogan, Room 1160, First Floor
You’re invited to our Watering Hole, the Center for Water Research’s new monthly gathering, where faculty and students come together to exchange ideas about water-related topics in a relaxed, collaborative atmosphere.
No territorial disputes here—just pure, refreshing exchanges between faculty and students.
- 20-minute presentation followed by snacks and mingling
- All Faculty and Students Welcome!
This Month:
Hear how Northwestern chemist Will Dichtel is removing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (“PFAS”) from our water. PFAS are found in up to a third of U.S. drinking water and are associated with many negative health effects.
In this presentation, learn about the groundbreaking materials that capture PFAS from water, which can be washed and reused in ways that allow these “forever chemicals” to be broken down into safe byproducts.
