In this talk I will describe work in the Center for Robotics and Biosystems on robotic manipulation, including autonomous in-hand robotic manipulation and safe, intuitive human-collaborative manipulation among one or more humans and a team of mobile manipulators. I will also introduce the new US National Science Foundation Human AugmentatioN via Dexterity (HAND) Engineering Research Center. This initiative was funded in September 2024 for up to 10 years and $52M to revolutionize the ability of robots to augment human labor via versatile dexterous robot hands that are useful out of the box.
