Attend this session to learn more about the winter-quarter Global Healthcare Technologies program in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The program is open to seniors who have an academic background in a technical field and an interest in the subject matter. Students studying engineering, computer science, neuroscience, biology, chemistry, pre-med, etc. are welcome to apply.
Global Healthcare Technologies offers hands-on experience in developing medical devices to improve health outcomes in resource-poor environments, particularly townships around Cape Town. Students work closely with Northwestern faculty, Stellenbosch University faculty and local health professionals to identify the healthcare needs of local clients and develop a design project. The emphasis is on problem definition, user-centered solutions, and the utilization of appropriate technologies.
The session will be recorded and shared with all registrants. Winter 2026 application deadline is June 10. Apply at gloapp.northwestern.edu.
