Description:

As the world of work keeps changing, so do the ways we help our kids get ready for it. This interactive series is your go-to guide for supporting your child’s academic and career journey; from finger painting to college applications.

This course is packed with practical tools, creative ideas, and fun strategies to help your child discover who they are and where they want to go. Each weekly one-hour live session is designed to give you fresh insights and real-world tips you can use right away.

What You’ll Learn
• A flexible framework for thinking about career pathways (yes, even for your kindergartener!)
• How to spark curiosity and confidence in your child at every age
• Tips for turning everyday moments into meaningful exploration
• Ways to keep things fun while building future-ready skills

Perfect for parents of kids from preschool through high school, this series is all about helping you guide your child with heart, purpose, and a whole lot of creativity. Let’s turn “What do you want to be when you grow up?” into a joyful, empowering journey—together.

Facilitator
Denise Mytko, CTD Associate Director

Format and Upcoming Dates
The course runs over a four-week period, but participants can access materials and complete activities at times that work best for them. Each topic includes a mix of short videos, audio recordings, articles, and slide presentations. These are followed by brief activities or discussion prompts designed to spark conversation among participants and the Center for Talent Development (CTD) facilitator.

In addition to the self-paced content, there are four live, 60-minute online cohort meetings, held from 12:00–1:00 PM (CT) on Thursdays: July 10, 17, 24, and 31. While attendance at these live sessions is optional, it is strongly encouraged for the best experience.

Participants will have continued access to course materials for one month after the course ends. Recordings of the weekly live sessions will be available for one week following each meeting. Please note that after the course end date, the discussion boards and activity threads will no longer be actively monitored, but all course content will remain accessible to enrolled participants for an additional month.
