DESCRIPTION:Part of the Winter Chamber Music Festival  Adrian Steele and Phoenix Avalon\, violin; Devin Moore\, viola; Joshua McClendon\, cello   The Strad praises the Isidore String Quartet’s “pristine cohesion\, always underpinned by joy and naturalness.” Winner of a 2023 Avery Fisher Career Grant and the 14th Banff International String Quartet Competition\, the Isidore String Quartet was formed in 2019 with the goal of revisiting\, rediscovering\, and reinvigorating the string quartet repertoire. The quartet has performed throughout the US and Europe\, collaborating with eminent performers including violinist James Ehnes and pianist Jeremy Denk. The group’s 2025-26 season included debuts at the Paris Philharmonie and London’s Wigmore Hall\, as well as the world premiere of a string quartet by Billy Childs.   W. A.
