DESCRIPTION:This talk will review recent research on disparities in cardiometabolic health linked to food insecurity and the role of community-engaged research in supporting community resources and developing interventions to promote health equity in households facing food insecurity.  Featuring: Jenny Jia\, MD\, MSc Assistant Professor\, Medicine Feinberg School of Medicine Northwestern University  Dr. Jia's research focuses on prevention of chronic diseases in vulnerable communities through environmental and lifestyle changes to support healthy diets. Her work particularly centers on food-insecure households\, including health disparities and interventions to enable healthy eating. She studies how different types of interventions\, such as community-based programs\, public policy\, and Food is Medicine models\, affect how people eat.
