SUMMARY:INQUIRE Seminar: Dana Z. Anderson\, Infleqtion
UID:647571@northwestern.edu
TZID:America/Chicago
DESCRIPTION:The Institute for Quantum Information Research and Engineering (INQUIRE) is pleased to welcome Dr. Dana Z. Anderson\, of Infleqtion. INQUIRE Seminar: Date: Wednesday\, October 28 Time: 1:15pm Location: Jacobs Center\, 1205 (map | directions) About Dr. Anderson: Dr. Dana Z. Anderson is the founder and Chief Science Officer of Infleqtion\, where he guides the company’s scientific vision and quantum technology strategy across quantum computing\, sensing\, and precision timing. An internationally recognized pioneer in cold- and ultracold-atom science\, he is also a JILA Fellow and Professor of Physics at the University of Colorado Boulder. Over more than four decades\, Anderson has advanced scientific discovery and technology through contributions ranging from early work on the LIGO gravitational-wave project to breakthroughs in optical neural networks\, ultracold-atom systems\, quantum sensing\, and precision measurement. His work has helped translate fundamental advances in atomic physics into technologies with practical and commercial applications. Anderson is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of both Optica and the American Physical Society. He has authored more than 120 scientific publications\, holds numerous patents in quantum technology\, and has received the Optica R. W. Wood Prize\, the Willis E. Lamb Award\, and other honors. He earned his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Arizona after completing his undergraduate studies at Cornell University. Hosted by Prem Kumar.
