SUMMARY:Workshop: Physical Theatre and Corporeal Mime (with Teatro del Cielo)
UID:647815@northwestern.edu
TZID:America/Chicago
DESCRIPTION:Space is limited and advance registration is required! Open to students\, faculty\, staff\, and community members. Please wear clothing in which you feel comfortable moving. Activities can be adapted to different levels of mobility and participation. For private accommodation requests\, please contact jill.mannor@northwestern.edu. Join Teatro del Cielo for a three-hour\, hands-on workshop on the foundations of Dramatic Corporal Mime\, a physical theater practice that places the actor’s body at the center of scenic expression. Through guided exercises\, participants will explore presence\, embodied awareness\, physical action\, and the idea of the “thinking body.” No previous performance experience is required—only curiosity and a willingness to move! Teatro del Cielo (Ecuador) is the Fall 2026 Artist in Residence co-presented by the Department of Theatre and the Kaplan Humanities Institute.
