The Goldwater Scholarship is one of the most desirable undergraduate awards. Scholars continue after the bachelor's to win such prestigious fellowships as NSF, NDSEG, and the Hertz.
Sophomores and juniors in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering are eligible to apply. Each scholarship covers eligible expenses for undergraduate tuition, fees, books, and room and board, up to a maximum of $7,500 annually.
Please note that Northwestern may only forward four candidates. Northwestern holds internal competition, with interviews, to select nominees. Access the application at www.act.org/goldwater and click on "Apply Now." Applications due in to Office of Fellowships on November 19 at 9am. Application should include all essays, recommendations, and an unofficial transcript.
The application should be submitted as a Word document or PDF. DO NOT press SUBMIT and DO NOT fill in the recommendation writers' information. Include the recommendation writers' information in a separate document with your application.
