Please join us for a presentation and panel discussion on the Ebola outbreak that has been affecting Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia, and most recently, Nigeria. This presentation will be sponsored by the Center for Global Health and will be part of FSM’s Global Health Day. See the full agenda here.

Our panelists will discuss the virology, transmission, epidemiology, and prevention of the disease, the current state of the outbreak, as well as how emergency departments and field staff collect data and prepare. We will also discuss the ethical considerations of the outbreak and efforts to contain it, including the selective use of the experimental and untested ZMapp drug on two American physicians infected in W. Africa. Our panelists will be:

• Juliet Sorensen, Clinical Associate Professor, Northwestern Law
• Mike Schmidt, Assistant Professor, Emergency Medicine, FSM

Dr. Robert Murphy, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Center for Global Health, will moderate.
