Daniel Borzutsky, winner of the 2016 National Book Award for Poetry, will present "The Performance of Becoming Broke," a reading and conversation based on his award-winning book, The Performance of Becoming Human, which confronts the ways nation-states and their bureaucracies absorb and destroy communities and economies.
Presented by the Poetry & Poetics Colloquium (funded by The Office of the Provost, the Alice Kaplan Institute for the Humanities, the Departments of English, Classics, Spanish & Portuguese, African American Studies, and Slavic Languages & Literatures; the Programs in Comparative Literary Studies, Latina & Latino Studies, and American Studies; and the Center for the Writing Arts) and the Kaplan Humanities Insitute as part of their 2016-2017 Debt Dialogues Series.
