This session will talk about measurement informatics and how my work focuses at the intersection of modern testing theory with technology. This session will present a bit on modern measurement science which uses Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT) to shorten tests while often increasing test reliability to create measures which are typically much shorter and less expensive to the administer. As PI of numerous measure development and technology distribution grants and contracts, I have worked with teams to develop patient reported outcome measures (the Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System - PROMIS) and performance measures (The NIH Toolbox for the Assessment of Neurological Behavior and Function), and how these measures are integrated into existing testing platforms, such as REDCap, and patient portals, including Epic, to make them accessible for researchers, clinicians and patients.

About BIDS: These talks include visiting lecturers, presentations on research by BIDS faculty and trainees, as well as presentations about informatics tools and resources to support research.
