AWS Educate is Amazon Web Services, Inc.’s program to help students learn cloud technology skills, and help educators incorporate cloud concepts in the classroom to better prepare students to the enter the cloud workforce.

With the increasing demand for cloud employees, AWS Educate provides an academic gateway for the next generation of IT and cloud professionals with access to: promotional credits to use AWS services; AWS Educate’s cloud career pathways, with 30+ hours of content and knowledge checks to personalized your learning for over 25 cloud career paths; and the AWS Educate Job Board with the latest in cloud jobs from Amazon and other employers. AWS Educate also provides access to training resources, and, for educators, a repository of shared learning content contributed by AWS and educators from around the world that are already teaching about the cloud.

Presenters

Grace Kitzmiller is Technical Program Manager for AWS Educate. Grace manages operations, updates, and product roadmapping for the AWS Educate educator portal and student cloud career pathway portals. Before joining AWS, Grace worked with a graph database start-up and in IT consulting for state and federal environmental protection agencies, developing web and reporting applications. Grace holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Craig Dixon is the membership manager for AWS Educate. In this role, he works with students and faculty to ensure they have a great experience as an AWS Educate member. Prior to joining AWS, Craig held several roles (i.e., corporate business development and strategy) at PayPal, Blackboard, First Annapolis Consulting, and The Chronicle of Higher Education. He started his career as a full-stack application developer in Merrill Lynch's Global Banking Group. Craig holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from Boston University. Also, he received a Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth where he was a Center of Digital Strategies Fellow. Craig is an avid entrepreneur and innovator, having launched two technology companies and receiving a patent.
