We will host "Racism, Patriotism, and Black Protest: From the 1968 Uprisings to the NFL #TakeAKnee Protests.” The workshop will feature two panel discussions on the black protest tradition in the United States. The goal of the event is to have a wide-ranging intellectual discussion of the motivations of democratic protests for racial justice and equity beginning in 1968, which was the year of the Bursar's Office protest.
