The Illinois Portuguese Language Connection is an initiative of Northwestern University, The University of Chicago, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The main objective of this annual event it to gather the students of Portuguese from the three biggest universities in Illinois to interact in Portuguese, in a dynamic and festive event. This year's theme is: "Cape Verde: Joy of Life". We will count with the special presence of the award-winner writer Fátima Bettencourt, straight from the city of Mindelo, in São Vicente Island. We will also enjoy Cabo Verdian Mornas, presented by musicians Awgwstho and Zé Galvão, performing directly from Boston.
