Please join the International Relations Speaker Series as they host Professor Michael C. Desch (Notre Dame) for a presentation titled, "Will the Real(ist) Thucydides Please Stand Up? Reading Restraint at the Heart of the Paradigm’s Ur-text".
Dr. Michael C. Desch is a professor of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame focusing on international relations, American foreign policy, and U.S. National Security policy. He is also the founding Director of the Notre Dame International Security Center, a research and programming center in the College of Arts and Letters dedicated to bridging the gap between the scholarly study of the use of military force and broader policy debates. Dr. Desh has written three books and numerous articles and chapters on grand strategy, civil-military relations, democracy and war, political theory and international relations, and most recently on bridging the gap between the ivory tower and the policy world.
