Please join Comparative Historical Social Sciences as they host Khoa Phan-Howard and Jack Votava, graduate students in Northwestern University's Department of Sociology.
Khoa Phan-Howard is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at Northwestern University, with specializations in qualitative methods, gender and sexuality, family studies, and American politics. He broadly studies how social institutions shape intimate relationships, and how people navigate and make sense of intimacy within and beyond these institutions. His research has received awards from the American Sociological Association (ASA), and is published on Social Problems (a top generalist journal of the discipline). Through his research, I aim to provide key insights that can uplift the social well-being of minoritized individuals and social groups.
Jack Votava is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at Northwestern University. His area of interest is economic sociology.
