Please join the Russian, Eurasian and East European Studies research program and the Keyman Modern Turkish Studies program in an online panel discussion to discuss the dramatic developments in Georgia and Armenia.
In the volatile South Caucasus, the tides seem to be shifting, with the Georgian government moving away from the West and toward Russia, and the Armenian government seeming to do just the opposite. In the last several weeks, the citizens of Armenia and Georgia have taken to the streets to protest their governments' shifts in policy. Our speakers include Prof. Ronald G. Suny of the University of Michigan, and Giorgi Kldiashvili and Anton Vatcharadze of the Institute for the Development of Freedom of Information in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The discussion will be moderated by Ian Kelly, Northwestern's Ambassador in Residence of the Weinberg College Center for International and Area Studies.
