Join the Buffett Institute for a new faculty research lunchtime talk series on the first Friday of every month. Faculty members will give a half-hour talk intended for a broad, multidisciplinary audience of Northwestern students, faculty and staff, followed by a conversational Q&A.
On the first Friday in December, Sara Huston, co-lead of the Buffett Institute’s Global FamDNA Working Group and Research Assistant Professor at Northwestern University and Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, will discuss her research on utilizing scientific DNA testing technologies to reconnect separated families. She will also share insights into her working group’s mission to pilot the use of DNA for a database dedicated to supporting immediate reunification of rescued children with their families and ongoing searches into the future.
