Artist Talk by Tali Keren
Moderators:
Evgeny Stolyarov (NU JVP)
Ruslana Lichtzier (PhD Candidate, Art History & MENA)
In this talk, Keren will discuss her latest film, Un-Charting (2023), that critically examines settler-colonial imaginaries projected onto Palestine while linking conservative American Evangelicalism, British imperialism, and Zionism. Through a layering of historical sources, contemporary documentary footage, animation and architectural rendering, Un-Charting presents the ideological, religious, and libidinal entanglements between empires in formation past and present. The work reveals how messianic myths travel across time and geography, fueling state-sanctioned violence and Palestinian erasure.
