Twelve Northwestern students attended the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference of Parties, or COP29.
Northwestern delegates to COP29 conducted original research through the course Research in Global Climate Change: Science, Rights & Politics at Climate COPs, a research seminar designed and taught by environmental social scientist Kimberly Marion Suiseeya, Associate Professor of Political Science at Northwestern's Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences.
Students in the course studied how international climate negotiations work, how different actors shape governance and how researchers can study these sites while considering the potential for these sites to address climate change.
Join this poster session to learn more about their research projects and takeaways from the convening. Lunch will be provided.
Please note that 720 University Place is not an ADA-accessible space. Increasing physical access to buildings and facilities is a goal of the University, but not all buildings and venues have been updated.
