Description:

Northwestern University's Buffett Institute for Global Affairs and Office of International Student & Scholar Services (OISS) invite you to a special event focused on the diverse experiences of international students.

Join us for a panel discussion with four Northwestern international students who will share their journeys navigating higher education in a new country to realize dreams anchored in the communities they left. Hailing from Brazil, Ireland and Tunisia, Uruguay, and Zambia, the students will shed light on the unique challenges that some international students face with cultural and linguistic adjustment, socioeconomic mobility, personal self-discovery and more.

The discussion will be moderated by OISS Director Sara Thurston and interspersed with a curated selection of clips from Brief Tender Light, a film that follows four African international students as they navigate their undergraduate journey at MIT. An audience Q&A will follow.

Registrants will be provided a password-protected link to watch the film in advance of the screening.

Please note that 720 University Place is not an ADA-accessible space. Increasing physical access to buildings and facilities is a goal of the University, but not all buildings and venues have been updated.
