Northwestern University's Buffett Institute for Global Affairs and Office of International Student & Scholar Services (OISS) invite you to a special event focused on the diverse experiences of international students.
Join us for a panel discussion with four Northwestern international students who will share their journeys navigating higher education in a new country to realize dreams anchored in the communities they left. Hailing from Brazil, Ireland & Tunisia, Poland and Zambia, the students will shed light on the unique challenges that some international students face with cultural and linguistic adjustment, socioeconomic mobility, personal self-discovery and more.
The discussion will be moderated by OISS Director Sara Thurston and interspersed with a curated selection of clips from Brief Tender Light, a film that follows four African international students as they navigate their undergraduate journey at MIT. An audience Q&A will follow.
Registrants will be provided a password-protected link to watch the film in advance of the screening.
Please note that 720 University Place is not an ADA-accessible space. Increasing physical access to buildings and facilities is a goal of the University, but not all buildings and venues have been updated.
