Title: "Growing Class Gaps and Shrinking Race Gaps in Life Expectancy"
By Hannes Schwandt, Associate Professor of Human Development and Social Policy and IPR Fellow.
Abstract: Class gaps in life expectancy have grown in the United States over the past two decades while Black-White gaps in life expectancy have narrowed. In this talk, Schwandt will explore how these trends are related, which mechanisms are driving each, and which policy implications can be drawn from these important developments.
This event is part of the Fay Lomax Cook Spring 2025 Colloquium Series, where our researchers from around the University share their latest policy-relevant research.
Please note all colloquia this quarter will be held in-person only.
