As part of Indonesia's Vision for 2045, which marks the nation's 100th anniversary of independence, the government aims to achieve high-income status, reduce poverty to almost zero, attain food self-sufficiency, and position the country as the world's food barn. Yet critical questions remain about the adequacy of efforts to improve the welfare of those who grow the nation's food: farmers.
Join the Buffett Institute and its Equality Development & Globalization Studies (EDGS) program for a public talk with Buffett Visiting Scholar Sarah Gultom, Assistant Professor of Business Innovation at Monash University in Indonesia, on the imperative of prioritizing the welfare of farmers as a fundamental component of Indonesia's path to food security.
Refreshments will be served beginning at 3:45 p.m.
Please note that 720 University Place is not an ADA-accessible space. Increasing physical access to buildings and facilities is a goal of the University, but not all buildings and venues have been updated.
