NUPOC Gallery Features Oil Paintings by Kierra Falbo

Monday, June 19, 2017 | All day
680 North Lake Shore Drive, Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center (NUPOC), Suite 1100, Chicago, IL 60611

At  NUPOC, science, technology, and art intersect. In recognition of the artistry that is intrinsic to the allied health discipline of Prosthetics and Orthotics, NUPOC features an exhibition of oil paintings by Kierra Falbo and sculptures by Yeongchi Wu.

Ms Falbo paints landscapes and seascapes with a colorful and realistic technique. She is a student in the Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics (2018) degree program at NUPOC. She plans to combine her tandem passions by contributing to art and improving lives through Prosthetics and Orthotics.

Dr. Wu, a faculty member in the Feinberg School of Medicine, sculpts and paints in many styles and media. His work has been commissioned and exhibited internationally.

Artists and Certified Prosthetists-Orthotists (CPOs) cultivate similar skills, such as rigorous training in human anatomy. CPOs' clinical work entails creative, three-dimensional artistry that bridges science and technology as they fit and fabricate functional, comfortable prostheses and orthoses for their patients.
