The program will begin at 11:15am in Harris Hall at Northwestern University, with a lecture by this year’s honored scholar, Professor Rachel Armstrong. Dr. Armstrong is a Professor of Experimental Architecture at the Department of Architecture, Planning and Landscape, Newcastle University. Professor Armstrong is also a 2010 Senior TED Fellow (see her TED talk here: https://www.ted.com/talks/rachel_armstrong_architecture_that_repairs_itself) who is establishing an alternative approach to sustainability that couples with the properties of the natural world to develop a 21st century production platform for the built environment, which she calls 'living' architecture.
