Join Lynette Behnke, U.S. Foreign Service, in a discussion on her experiences and insights into a career in the foreign service.

Whether you're interested in working for the U.S. government, an NGO or think tank, or a private corporation operating overseas, somewhere in your career you will likely come into contact with the State Department or a U.S. Embassy. I have nine years of experience in the Foreign Service, with assignments in Haiti, Hungary, and Washington, including a year at the National Security Council. I look forward to sharing my insights and answering your questions. Discussion topics will include:

- Joining the Foreign Service
- Living and working overseas
- Typical career paths
- The role of diplomacy in the modern world
- How foreign policy gets made
