Professor Irwin Weil's 50 years at Northwestern is being celebrated by the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures and Northwestern Hillel on April 7 at 7pm at Hillel (629 Foster St.) Professor Weil will share some of his experiences and will sign copies of his memoir, "From the Cincinnati Reds to the Moscow Reds." The title refers to the fact that Irwin's father was the owner of the Cincinnati Reds. Professor Weil later met a different kind of Reds in Soviet and post-Soviet Russia, where he taught and did research at the University of Moscow and other institutions for over 55 years.
